Top Ten FAQ's
1. What do I wear to class?
Wear just what you would wear to a regular fitness class. Yoga pants and a tank top are fine.
You can also tie a scarf around your hips to help you see your hip movements.
You won't need shoes or socks.
2. What do I bring to class?
Water!! You'll definately sweat!
Bring a floor mat if you are worried about the tops of our feet or knees for our cool-down.
And of course, don't forget your sense of humour and a big smile!
3. A floor mat?
If you have any knee problems I will give you alternative stretches to do while standing.
4. I've never taken a dance class before, can I still come to class?
Of course! Everyone is welcome in Beginner I. Belly Dance is an exceptional dance, in that you will gain core strength, fluidity and stretch your whole body all while having fun! The class may be somewhat of a challenge for you, but don't be hard on yourself. Do what you can and you will notice yourself improve over the session. Also, never be afraid to ask me for help.
5. Am I ready for Beginner II?
You are ready to move on to Beginner II only if you have a thourough understanding of all the basic moves. If you have any doubts, just ask me.
If you are taking a Beginner II and find it too hard, you can always transfer back to Beginner I, or take a Beginner I along with the Beginner II. Two classes a week can work wonders!
6. Am I ready for Intermediate?
Please come and talk to me before you sign up for intermediate classes as they are very fast paced.
7. How do I register for classes?
Contact the appropriate Rec. Center by phone or e-mail.
If you have any questions you can always e-mail me.
8. When should I get to class?
Please come at least 5 minutes early so you can get changed, chat with friends and start warming up. Once class starts (with a short warm-up) you're mine!
9. How long are classes?
All classes are 1 hour.
10. Do you teach private classes?
Why yes I do. Please contact me if you are interested in learning at a higher and more personalized level.
